The myofascial system is made up of contractile muscle tissue and connective tissue.
What is the function of the fascia in the body?
In the past, fascia was thought to be passive structurally but it is, in fact, incredibly active. Fascia provides support for surrounding tissues, helps to reduce friction, and plays a supportive role for the tissues and organs. It’s deeply affected by stress, emotion, and anxiety.
What happens when the fascia isn’t healthy?
When fascia has been affected by stress, anxiety, impact forces (car accidents, falls, etc), injury, surgery, etc. the flow of force through the body is impacted - density and contractures in the fascia form (aka palpable pain points or trigger points) - and pain begins.
How does myoActivation work?
myoActivation uses a unique assessment system of assessment to identify the affected tissues, find the palpable pain points, and uses adry-needling technique to release density and contracture, restoring the health and function of the tissue.
What is myoActivation®?
myoActivation® is a unique structured system of assessment and treatment designed to reduce myofascial components of chronic pain. It’s distinguished from other treatments in it’s approach to identifying the source of the pain and the system of trigger point needling used to release muscles in sustained contraction, fascia under tension, and relevant scars with the aim of resolving pain.
